🚀 Getting Started

How does DriveSafe work? +

DriveSafe is simple: Answer 2 quick questions about your current insurance situation, and we'll calculate what you should actually be paying. If you're overpaying (most people are), you can call us to lock in a better rate. The whole process takes about 90 seconds.

Here's the breakdown:

  • Answer 2 questions (what you pay now, when you last shopped)
  • Get an instant savings estimate
  • Call our licensed agents to confirm and switch
  • Start saving money immediately
Is DriveSafe really free? +

Yes, completely free. No cost to get a quote. No cost to compare rates. No hidden fees. Ever.

We get paid by insurance companies when we help you find a policy—but that doesn't affect your rate. You pay the same price whether you use us or go directly to the insurance company yourself.

Do I have to call, or can I do everything online? +

You can get your quote and estimate online in 90 seconds without talking to anyone.

However, to actually switch policies and finalize coverage, you'll need to have a quick call with one of our licensed agents (usually 2-5 minutes). This ensures everything is set up correctly and you're getting the best possible rate.

Why the call? Insurance regulations require verification of certain details, and our agents can often find additional savings or coverage options that automated systems miss.

How long does it actually take? +

Online quote: 90 seconds

Phone call to finalize: 2-5 minutes

Total time from start to finish: Less than 10 minutes

Compare that to traditional insurance shopping, which can take 2+ hours of calling around and filling out forms.

đź’° Pricing & Savings

How much can I actually save? +

Average savings: $140/month ($1,680/year)

However, savings vary based on your situation:

  • If you haven't shopped in 3+ years: Often $150-200/month
  • If you're a safe driver with a clean record: $100-150/month
  • If you've shopped recently: You might already have a good rate

About 8 out of 10 people who check their rate with us are overpaying. The only way to know for sure is to check.

Is the quote I get my actual price, or will it change? +

The quote you get is your actual price. No bait and switch. What we quote is what you pay.

The only time a quote might change slightly is if:

  • You provide different information during the final call
  • Your driving record check reveals something you didn't mention
  • You request different coverage than what was initially quoted

But for 95% of people, the quote is locked in and accurate.

Why is your rate so much lower than what I'm paying now? +

Three main reasons:

1. You're a new customer: Insurance companies offer their best rates to attract new customers. Your current company probably did the same thing when you first signed up—then slowly raised your rate over time.

2. You're comparing: Because you're shopping around, companies have to be competitive. They can't just auto-renew you at a higher rate.

3. Your old company got comfortable: Once you've been with a company for 2-3 years, they often raise rates gradually, banking on the fact that you won't leave.

It's not a scam. It's just how the insurance industry works. We're helping you take advantage of the same system that's been taking advantage of you.

🛡️ Coverage & Protection

Will I get the same coverage I have now? +

Yes—or better. We match your current coverage levels (liability, deductibles, comprehensive, collision) or exceed them.

We're not about cutting corners to save money. We're about finding you the same protection for less. Saving money shouldn't mean risking your financial security.

What if I have special coverage needs (rideshare, business use, etc.)? +

No problem. When you call to finalize your quote, just mention any special coverage you need:

  • Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
  • Business use
  • Classic/collector car
  • High-value vehicle
  • Teen drivers
  • SR-22 filing

Our agents will find policies that cover your specific situation. It might affect your rate slightly, but we'll still likely save you money compared to what you're paying now.

Can I bundle home and auto insurance? +

Yes! Bundling often saves even more money. Mention during your call that you're interested in bundling, and our agents will find you the best combined rate.

Many of our customers save an additional 10-20% by bundling home and auto insurance.

🔄 Switching Process

How do I switch without a gap in coverage? +

We handle it for you. Here's the process:

  • You set a start date for your new policy (usually 1-2 weeks out)
  • Your new coverage begins on that date
  • You then cancel your old policy effective the same date
  • Your old company refunds you for any unused time

There's zero gap in coverage. You're protected the entire time. Our agents walk you through every step to ensure it's seamless.

Will I get a refund from my old insurance company? +

Yes. If you've prepaid for coverage (most people pay 6 months at a time), you'll get a prorated refund for the unused portion.

Example: If you paid for 6 months but cancel after 4 months, you'll get 2 months worth of premiums back. Usually arrives within 2-4 weeks as a check or direct deposit.

What if I don't like my new insurance and want to switch back? +

You can cancel anytime. Insurance policies aren't contracts—you're free to leave whenever you want.

That said, we recommend giving your new policy at least one billing cycle. Most "buyer's remorse" happens because the new company's app or website looks different, not because the coverage is worse.

If you genuinely aren't happy, you can switch back to your old company or try a different one. But you'll keep the money you saved in the meantime.

đź”’ Privacy & Security

Is my information secure? +

Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption (256-bit SSL) to protect your data. Your personal information is never sold, shared, or used for anything other than getting you a quote.

Will checking my rate affect my credit score? +

No. Getting a quote is a "soft pull" that doesn't impact your credit score at all.

Even when you actually purchase a policy, insurance credit checks have minimal impact—far less than applying for a credit card or loan.

Will I get spam calls or emails? +

No spam. Ever. We hate that stuff as much as you do.

You'll only hear from us if:

  • You requested a quote and we need to follow up
  • You're a customer and we have an important update
  • You specifically opted in to our occasional money-saving tips

That's it. No robo-calls. No daily emails. No selling your info to other companies.
